MEDICAL QIGONG |
|||
| Qigong ("chee-gong") is an ancient health science that has been in existence for thousands of years. It works with physical energy through a system of slow physi al movements. These movements create a harmonious integration of the human body with the Universe. Medical Qigong balances the energy flow (chi) throughout the body. It realigns the natural circulation of chi throughout the body’s channels. The practitioner is able to feel “unbalanced energy” and realign the flow of energy and remove blockages and toxins from the patient. This process can also provide energy to deficient organs or meridians. | |||
| Qigong originated in China where over 70 million people converge in parks everyday to do these graceful movements each day. Qigong is one of the five branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In China, where there are many medical Qigong hospitals, and clinics, Qigong is valued highly in the treatment of serious illnesses. Proponents claim it has cured cancer, AIDS, heart disease, arthritis, asthma. Qigong has been defined as "energy-breath work" because through the breathing exercises, energy can be absorbed from the atmosphere. Everyone can learn because the techniques are simple. When somebody has a high level of Qi (energy), one's health can be good. When our Qi level is low, it is usually symptomatic of blockages in the meridians (energy channels) that Qi travels throughout our whole body. This can allow toxins and disease set in. | |||
Medical Qigong
is classified as one of the three main schools of this 5000 year-old
technique. The other two are Spiritual Qigong, and Martial Arts Qigong.
This special healing system produces the vital Qi required to eliminate
toxins. It can opens up the channels between mind, body and spirit to
eliminate disease and maintain optimal health. This is achieved by
focusing on five different areas of the practice:
